Parent Engagement

Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School is proud to announce the hiring of a new Parent Engagement Specialist, and the opening of the Parent Center at our school site. We are excited to continue working with our “Parents as Partners” in their children’s education. We offer various opportunities for parents to get involved, and our overall goal is to get parents motivated to become engaged in their child’s education, and ultimately gain knowledge about a post-secondary education.

We have improved the quality of our parent education program by partnering with community resources to provide a better program for our parents. We have partnered with L.A. Care Health Plan, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, SHIELDS for Families, Southeast Community Development Corporation, and a special partnership with Los Angeles City College to provide parents the opportunity to take college classes at our school site, for free.

In the 2015-2016 school year, 70% of our parents completed 20+ hours of parent engagement, 20% completed over 40-hours of engagement time and 10% completing at least 10 hours of engagement time in their child’s education.

Parent Engagement Opportunities
