Special Education Program at Alliance Collins Family High School

Mission

The mission of the Special Education Program at Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School is to provide an educational environment where all students feel safe and are successful regardless of their ability level. All students in the Special Education Program are held to high expectations promoting self-confidence and self-advocacy through the Inclusion and Resource Specialist Program models. In addition to academic supports all students who are enrolled in the special education program will attain skills and utilize supports as they pertain to their individual transition plans progressing them towards success in post-secondary education and life.

Vision

The vision of the Special Education Program at  Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School is that students will consistently demonstrate readiness for success in life by progressing on their annual academic and transition goals as measured by general education teachers, special education teachers, and through student self monitoring; by becoming self-advocates who can articulate what their disability is and how it affects them; by being able to understand and explain what their accommodations are, when they need them and why they are using them.
