good afternoon good afternoon bienvenido all right I know we have a mix of Scholars and parents here with us today the nameless alumnos he Padres Guardian this and probably and staff as well joining us today so thank you were going to just give me a minute for folks with Strickland we're going to play a little tune while we wait for you to find your way in and have others join us all right we 2021 they've had a long long winding road is seniors it turned out to be rather different than they imagined his freshman we all know that we can't say it enough for extremely proud of all of you if huge Challenge in a very difficult time especially for some of those who have never even been to Collin before so we are excited that the road ahead is finally changing for good things to happen all of our amazing parents were here with us today thank you for constantly doing everything you had to do to provide for your families and create space for our Scholars to work and support them enough anyway I'm excited let's go ahead and get started we have a presentation to share about some positive updates for the upcoming school year in summer school another thing I want to celebrate though as many of you do know or not know Collins has been awarded a California distinguished school as of lately we received this award just a few months ago this is a very big honor so I just want to just take a moment to acknowledge that with all of you and say thank you for doing your part but it's it's big news to be highlighted as a California distinguished School play Johnny Orleans Square April we started with our on-site scholarship support program as part of that program we had students from all grade levels we had a really large Focus do on 21 seniors who are not meeting graduation requirements that was very scary moment for a lot of us back in April with a real genuine fear of having a low graduation rate and a potential dropout rate that was unprecedented at Collins we've all 99% or higher graduation rate for years so this was pretty scary and it really showed the impact that the pandemic was having on our students today I'm very proud to show you that we got that number down to three seniors and those three seniors have potential to graduate over the course of summer school this is huge as a very big dip from 21 we we are already in been in touch the families to encourage them to be here so we can do our best to graduate them through Summer and the big messages that in-person learning is essential to Our Success the on-site scholar program was our first time having students classroom with teachers in over a year and it made a huge difference so I'm extremely happy to share that with you all going to Celebration Syria, Aleppo Aleppo Willakenzie Moses the
